Application: Used as a flux in welding, and as a raw material for the manufacture of other fluorine salts, and can also be used in electrochemical processes and reagents, used as a flux for heat welding and brazing, raw material for aluminum-magnesium casting to produce boron-containing alloys, and used as filler in heavy-duty grinding wheels using resin as abrasive binder. When welding and fusing silver, gold and stainless steel, it can remove light metal dross. It is the raw material for making boron trifluoride and other fluorine salts, used in electrochemical processes and reagents, used in low chromic acid chromium plating and lead-tin alloy electrolyte. The industrial product contains 95% potassium borofluorate, and the content of chloride and sulfate in the industrial product potassium borofluorate used for chrome plating needs to be controlled. Potassium borofluorate can also be used for texture etching of aluminum alloys and etching of titanium and silicon wafers.

Physical Property: Potassium borofluorate is white powder or gel-like crystal. Non-hygroscopic, bitter taste. Slightly soluble in water and hot ethanol, insoluble in cold ethanol, insoluble in alkaline solution. The density (25/4°C) is 2.5g/mL and the melting point is 530°C.
